Creative Collab; Image Library: PATCH

Creative Collaboration, DGP Year Two, Image Library

For the first week, we were given a brief that gave us a task of producing a library image.  Prior to any structure and planning, we discussed the possible themes we could take on for the project.

Our first thought was photography based. I looked at Pinterest and saw many interesting patterns and repeated imagery and it gave me the idea that we could start by doing that. I felt that photographing patterns seemed like a simple task, however, the challenge comes from the volume of images having to be produced for the project. Will suggested that we could focus our project on textiles, which led us to focusing on our target market.

The target market: Fashion and Interior designers

We saw that in fashion, interesting, modern and eclectic patterns were always the catch of the eye. So with that as the basis of our photography goal and divided to two main content: Natural and Man-Made.

I had this vision of our patterns being able to print onto textiles and furniture, promoting this niche market of boutique and exclusive products for our clients.
